Kinetic weapons require ammunition to fire and also require reloads when your current magazine runs empty; however, they build up heat slower than Energy weapons.

Kinetic weapons deal reduced damage to shields but increased damage to ship hulls.

CANNONS

Cannons fire in single shots, with the highest damage per shot of most kinetic weapons.

M.C.s

Multi-cannons fire continuously until they run out of ammo in the clip, like a machine gun.

FRAGS

Fragment Cannons fire in 3 bursts of 12 projectiles before requiring a reload.

SPECIALIST KINETIC WEAPONS

Locked by Powerplay requirements, or unlockable via Technology Brokers, these specialist kinetic weapons can offer unique play styles and advantages.

As well as providing variety to combat some weapons are used in Anti-Xeno (AX) combat as often normal weapon types aren’t effective against Thargoids.

Specialist situations call for these specialist weapons and its advisable to work out early in your career what you might want as each Powerplay-locked weapon requires a 4-week pledge.
