Appearance:

Illegal Salvage Missions show a barrel over a skull.

Description/Instructions:

In most Salvage mission cases you’ll be sent to a location to obtain Commercial Samples or a similar item. When you arrive at the target system, you can either scan the Nav Beacon or honk the system and use the FSS to search for the signal source, which will be indicated in orange. Once located, you may see it has a Threat Level. If its 0, thats OK, if its higher, you’re going to want to be fast; hence, always take Collection Limpets for these missions. Lock to the target location, drop from supercruise and hang for 1-2 seconds before you drop to 0 throttle, release two limpets and open your Cargo Hatch. Scoop up the items and escape. Notes: if there is a threat ensure you have 4 pips to SYS before entering, and a system locked to high-wake to afterwards. You may also want to exclude common items like Water, Biowaste etc so the limpets only grab the samples. As ever, limpets will grab the closest item if they are given no target, if you target an item they’ll collect it and then expire. So you would need 4 limpets for 4 samples if you use the targeting method.
